Developed by Professor Makoto Shichida in 1958, Shichida follows a neuro-science backed curriculum with focus on whole-brain development. It emphasizes speed, visualization, and intuitive learning rather than analytical thinking alone. It focuses on building 'cognitive neural pathways' by introducing the best content based on age and learning abilities. The method is globally available in 17 countries with 350+ centers.
Rooted in "education of the heart," Shichida Method recognises that early brain development is shaped as much by emotional connection as by stimulation. By empowering parents to learn alongside their child, it creates a supportive environment of trust and security — nurturing not only cognitive abilities, but confidence, emotional balance, and a lifelong love for learning.
We offer programs for children from 0 to 6 years old, however, it is highly recommended to ensure that your children are inducted before 4 years of age. Based on the Shichida Method, 0-4 years are considered as 'intensive input' while after 4 years age, the program shifts gears and focuses more on 'extensive output' mode. Each program is specifically designed to match the developmental stage of the child.
Classes typically run for 50 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the age group. Younger children have shorter attention spans, so their classes are structured accordingly. Each class includes various activities designed to stimulate different aspects of brain development.
Yes, for children under 3 years old, we require parent participation. This creates a bonding experience and allows parents to learn techniques they can practice at home. For older children (3+ years), classes can be attended independently, though parent involvement is always welcome.
A typical Shichida class includes flash cards, memory games, music and movement activities, storytelling, arts and crafts, and various brain training exercises. The activities are fast-paced and designed to stimulate both hemispheres of the brain while keeping children engaged and excited about learning.
Shichida Method focuses on activating all six sensory perceptions, helping activate whole-brain development and enabling children to develop memory, creativity, concentration, empathy, and emotional intelligence. Students across the globe have shown improved academic performance, greater confidence, and better social skills.
We recommend attending classes once a week consistently. Regular attendance is crucial for the method's effectiveness. The techniques and activities build upon each other, so consistency helps reinforce learning and development.
Absolutely! We encourage parents to practice activities at home. We provide guidance on home practice techniques and materials. However, it's important to maintain the positive, loving environment that is central to the Shichida Method. Never force activities if your child is resistant.
Every child develops at their own pace. Some children may not show immediate responses, but the brain development is still occurring. We encourage patience and consistency. Our experienced instructors can provide personalized advice and modifications to better suit your child's learning style.
Basic materials are provided during classes. However, we do recommend some home practice materials that can enhance your child's learning experience. These include flash cards, music CDs, and activity books specifically designed for the Shichida Method.
Progress in the Shichida Method may not always be immediately visible, as much of the development happens at a neurological level. However, parents often notice improvements in memory, concentration, creativity, and emotional stability over time. We also provide regular assessments and progress updates.
Yes, the Shichida Method can be beneficial for children with various special needs. The method's focus on right-brain development and emotional connection can help children with autism, ADHD, and other developmental differences. We can adapt activities to suit individual needs.
Our instructors are certified in the Shichida Method and have undergone extensive training. They have backgrounds in early childhood education, child development, or related fields. All instructors participate in ongoing professional development to maintain their certification that is directly facilitated by Shichida Educational Institute in Japan.
To enroll your child, you can contact us through our website, phone, or email. We recommend starting with a trial class to see if the program is a good fit for your child. We'll assess your child's age and developmental stage to place them in the appropriate class.
We require 24 hours notice for class cancellations. Make-up classes may be available depending on schedule availability. For refund policies, please contact our team directly or using the 'Contact Us' form.
